Dr. Gordon Isaacs

Dr. Gordon Isaacs’ professional career spans over forty years in the field of Clinical Social Work. Gordon opened the first Crisis Clinic in Johannesburg, where he worked as Head of Therapeutic Services, as well as serving as a consultant for many addiction centres in South Africa. He gained his Masters and PhD degrees at the University of Cape Town, where for several years he was Professor and Head of the Social Work Department. Gordon has published extensively in the fields of human sexuality and HIV, crisis intervention, rape, and has co-authored a textbook, published by Oxford University Press, on homosexual identity, culture and crisis. Gordon is currently the Psycho-social Coordinator of SWEAT’s Outreach and Development programme (Cape Town).
