Start with a Bachelor of Applied Social Science
It was not until the late 1800s that Psychology became accepted as its own academic discipline and later still, to be recognised as a science. And yet, in today’s 4IR world, the ability to understand people is a highly sought-after skill for anyone wanting to work in start-ups, corporate boardrooms and caring careers such as therapy, counselling and coaching.
Contemporary leaders need to satisfy the unique needs of employees, customers and all other stakeholders at an individual, team and systemic level while crafting a work environment that is inclusive and conducive to productivity, performance, and well-being.
So set yourself up for success in a variety of academic and career pathways. Study an accredited Bachelor of Applied Social Science with a Psychology major and couple this with a second major in Counselling, Business Management or Human Resource Management and graduate with a qualification that combines understanding human behaviour with vocational skills.
