Today globally and particularly in Africa, we have a deep leadership crisis. Individuals often find themselves in leadership positions without any formal training, no succession plans and very little opportunity for up-skilling. Real change requires courage to step out of our comfort zones, to be different and to ask the uncomfortable questions. Added to this, we are now living in this VUCA world where agility and adaptability are key components to not only surviving but thriving.
On Thursday, 12th March Sally-Ann Burgess, Executive Leadership Coach and Training, will be talking about ‘Leadership Coaching in Africa’ at SACAP’s Durban campus. She will be looking talking about “The Conscious Leadership Model”; how leaders and managers need to make radical changes in the way they operate that can challenge their core beliefs and behaviour; and the role of a coach in developing better leaders.
Ironically, in this fast paced world, it involves feeling secure enough to slow down, inviting in the “pause”, self-reflecting, becoming more mindful and trusting the process and yourself.
Sally-Ann Burgess has a genuine passion for adult human development. She works with Leaders throughout Africa, sharing her knowledge of shifting and leaning into a more “conscious” leadership space. She will unpack briefly what this entails and how coaches can help clients with those crucial shifts of self awareness.
The talk is free, but RSVP is required.
Location: Durban Campus, 5th Floor 199-203 Peter Mokaba Road (previously Ridge Road – North), Morningside.
