Why take this course
Ideal for working professionals looking for a foundation in coaching with a view to becoming a professional coach practitioner or as an internal coach within their existing organisation.
Over the course of the five-month programme, SACAP will bring our unique psychological lens to coaching as an Applied Psychology. We believe that in order to work effectively with others, one needs to understand and apply psychological principles within the scope of practice as a coach.
In addition to being trained in the coaching competencies set by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), students will also receive personalised feedback and mentoring from ICF credentialed mentor coaches towards their professional development as a coach.
The Coach Practitioner programme is the first of our two non-credit bearing short learning programmes that together cover the same content and practical applications as the first year of our Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching.
The Coach Practitioner programme aims to introduce students to some fundamental coaching competencies, as well as how to draw on learnings from an Applied Psychology framework within engagements with others. Together with the second course (Advanced Coach Practitioner Programme), students are trained to become conscious, competent and confident professional coaches.
Designed to fit around your work-life balance, the course comprises evening classes Online as well as intensive modules (made up of four consecutive days) that are held in-person at the campus where you’re registered (Cape Town, Johannesburg or Pretoria).
