Dr Laila Jeebodh-Desai is an Educational Psychologist and lecturer at the South African College of Applied Psychology and the founder of Psychologists Beyond Borders, a non-profit offering culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care to war-traumatised refugees. Her work has taken her from teaching in South Korea, to supporting children with special needs in South Africa, to volunteering in refugee camps in Jordan. Laila completed her doctoral research on Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness for treating PTSD in refugees and she’s passionate about using mindfulness to bring healing and hope.
