Financial challenges are often closely connected to the social and economic circumstances that shape people’s daily lives. For social workers and other professionals supporting vulnerable individuals and communities, understanding financial literacy can be an important part of promoting resilience, empowerment and sustainable social development.
This webinar will explore the role of financial literacy within Developmental and Economic Social Work, with a particular focus on the South African social development context. Participants will consider why financial literacy is increasingly relevant in today’s socio-economic climate, the key areas of knowledge that can support financially vulnerable service users, and practical tools that professionals can use in their work.
