Kirsten Harrison is an HPCSA-registered counsellor and Programme Coordination Manager at The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP), where she oversees academic operations for SACAP’s Postgraduate and Professional Training Programmes across South Africa.
In the 10 years since graduating, Kirsten has built a career at the intersection of higher education, student development, and mental health support.
Her work focuses on enhancing student success, strengthening academic systems, and supporting both educators and students within complex learning environments. Alongside her professional role, Kirsten is completing a Master of Arts in Psychology, with research exploring the relationship between perceived stress, coping, and quality of life among adults in South Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also runs a private counselling practice, with a focus on mental health care, substance use, and disaster relief support. Kirsten is passionate about bridging the gap between academic achievement and real-world resilience, and is committed to developing spaces where students can not only succeed, but also grow and adapt in meaningful ways.
