Workshop Overview
This CPD workshop aims to equip mental health practitioners with knowledge and understanding of the impact of COVID-19 on mental health within a South African context.
Explore the individual and social responses to the initial COVID-19 lockdown and gain insight into the long-term consequences for children and adolescents.
This workshop uses the emotional epidemic curve to assist with understanding the onset of post-pandemic mental health challenges. Investigate the role that disaster psychiatry plays during a pandemic.
Certification
Upon completion you will receive a digital certificate of completion as evidence of skills and knowledge demonstrated. This CPD workshop has been designed for psychologists, counsellors, psychometrists and other mental health practitioners to understand the impact of COVID-19 on mental health.
Learners attend a live online session, or watch the recording, and complete an online reading and assessment.
HPCSA registered professionals will receive 3 CPD points [3 CEU Continuing Education Units points] upon successful completion of the workshop.
Workshop Presenter
Anita Kriel is a Clinical Psychologist that has been published in numerous academic journals, both nationally and internationally.
She started her own private practice in 2005 and works with adults and adolescents in out-patient and in-patient settings.
Anita is also a consultant for a long-term substance abuse rehabilitation centre in KwaZulu-Natal and she has been an Educator at SACAP since 2019.
