Business Coaching Courses

Professional coaching is a career with a bright future. SACAP offers a range of courses that will provide you with the necessary skills and accreditation.

According to Heather Hansen O’Neill, president of Find Your Fire, and author of the bestselling books Teams on Fire! and Find Your Fire: “Business coaching can help entrepreneurs break through barriers that are holding them back and focus on the actions necessary to achieve their goals.”

She goes on to say that an increasing number of business owners are employing coaches to work with their leadership teams, believing that the boost to performance they provide will be essential in an increasingly competitive business landscape.

It’s clear that professional coaching is a career with a bright future, and business coaching in particular will be a sought-after resource, as companies look to adapt to new technologies and rapidly changing industries.

Becoming a business coach

If you’ve decided that business coaching is the career for you, the first step is to acquire some training. As Karolyne Williams, founder of SACAP’s School of Coaching, says: “The marketplace is wiser these days and seeks to separate the well-trained and experienced coaches from the fly-by-nights.” One of the ways they do this is by looking at coach training received, coaching experience and any professional coaching credentials.

SACAP offers a range of coaching courses, all of which are International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited and COMENSA aligned. Considering SACAP’s unique approach to teaching and learning, their courses provide the following benefits:

  • Practical experience: A combination of rigorous academic theory with practical skills, workplace experience and self-development, so as to ensure you graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to make an immediate impact.
  • Psychological angle: Since SACAP is also a psychology college, they’re able to incorporate the principles of applied psychology into their coaching courses, providing students with additional skill sets that will serve them well in their coaching career.
  • Flexibility: SACAP’s courses are designed for working professionals, so they can be pursued on a part-time basis. Even if you choose not to pursue a career as a business coach, the skills you develop can be applied in your current profession.

Although there is no dedicated business coaching course, there are a number of courses that will qualify you to pursue a coaching career, while developing skills that will be applicable in the field of business coaching. These include the Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching, and the Coach Practitioner Programme.

SACAP also offers a Bachelor of Applied Social Science Degree with majors in Psychology and Business Management, which is designed to equip you with the skills you need to operate effectively in the fields of both business and psychology.
